A Dancer Still

Screened at the 1992 Grand International Video Danse, Paris.
A Dancer Still is a gentle and illuminating film about Ronaldo Cameron's work and philosophy. A dazzling community artist, Ronaldo suffered from motor neuron disease for the last three years of his life. He died just after the completion of this film.

Tracking Ronaldo's 42 year life, we look at how a boy from a small country town became a dancer. It also explores his friendship and work with Yellow House artist/performer George Gittoes, who is shown in the film working a major portrait of Ronaldo. Rare archival footage of works performed during the past 20 years has  been located for inclusion in the film as well as some contemporary Aboriginal and Indian dance performances.
